CPU Frequency Scaling under Linux

Example for setting the frequency on a dual-core system:
cpufreq-set -c 0 --freq 2000MHz
cpufreq-set -c 1 --freq 2000MHz

Read out current frequency by doing
cat /proc/cpuinfo

Return of the broken ACPI laptop disk problem

As reported earlier some laptop disks have a broken bios. The mentioned fix works for Hardy Heron (Ubuntu 8.04), but won’t work for Intrepid Ibex (Ubuntu 8.10). Bug 59695 seems to cover it.

Running this script by hand seems to solve it.
